Well, weary travelers will now find solace while resting in a cocoon like sleeping pods installed at the Abu Dhabi Airport. These egg-shaped sleeping chambers are a unique solution to help travelers catch a nap while avoiding the noise and bustle of the terminal. 10 GoSleep cocoon like sleeping pods were installed at one of the terminals of the Abu Dhabi International Airport recently while 35 more of these pods are expected to be installed in here by the end of this year with several upgrades such as web access, secure storage for luggage and power ports to charge various gadgets.

These chambers are like chairs that convert into flat beds and are equipped with a sliding shade, which quarantines the user from noise and light. These special sleeping chambers are designed in Finland and can be easily hired at a price of $12.25/hour. According to the airport’s chief commercial officer, Mohammad Al Bulooki, the introduction of these GoSleep pods at the Abu Dhabi International Airport is a step towards providing their customers with a world-class service.

The Abu Dhabi airport is proud to be the first ones to have secured an agreement towards the installation of these latest sleeping chambers, thereby proving its worth to be one of the fastest growing airports in the world. The airport is expected to get a facelift worth $6.8 billion, which would help it in competing with the exquisite Dubai Airport nearby.

Though this GoSleep technology is new but various other international airports like London, New York, Tokyo etc. offer similar kind of micro hotel accommodations to their travelers with a range of crawl in capsules to small bedroom compartments for short duration stays on rental basis.
