Sony Personal Content Station allows effortless data storage and sharing

Sony Personal Content Station LLS-201

People often lose their important data, such as photos, videos or music files, as soon as their system breaks down due to some virus or any other technical failure, leaving them straight-faced. Addressing the issue, Sony has come up with a data storage and sharing called the “Personal Content Station” (aka LLS-201) that uses NFC (Near Field Communication) technology to let you store and share data without the need to log on to your PC.

Featuring video transcoder to convert high definition video like AVCHD to MP4 for playback on Smartphone or tablet, the PCS Manager comes with HDMI interface to let users view photos and videos on big screen TV in full HD quality (up to 1080/60p). Compatible with Android Smartphone and tablet via Android OS Ver.2.3 or later and iGadgets through iOS 6.0 or later, the LLS-201 also touts 1TB (terabyte) hard drive, which I’m sure is good enough to store a vast collection of photos, audio and video files.

Don’t own NFC devices, need not to worry, for the Personal Content Station also works with regular gadgets using WiFi, if you are reluctant to use an SD card or USB port, to get the data across. Scheduled to be released on April 30, 2013, the PCS Manager is expected to retail for around $299.
