Haven harnesses sound of wind to create an analog soundscape

Haven Sound Instrument

Hilly area may force many to shiver with cool breeze, but there are few creative souls that harness the influence of the nature to soothe your body and mind. Strapping up the sound of wind, a bunch of designers including, Andrew Spitz, Kat Zorina and Kenneth Aleksander Robertsen, has come up with a unique artifact called the “Haven” that as the name suggests produces heavenly sounds to calm your mind, other than warming your ears and arms with the woolen formation.

Drawing inspiration from the cool breeze of Copenhagen city, the artistic instrument harvests the whistling sounds of the wind to create an analog soundscape, which is soothing to the ear. Gathering air flow through pipes of different lengths and materials, attached to the arm sleeves, the Heaven moves the whistling sounds of the wind to the headpiece to lighten up your nerves. Developed as a part of the Performative Design module at the Copenhagen Institute of interaction Design (CIID), the device features the structure finished in wool that provide warmth and pipes that emphasize the sound of wind.
