With Facebook becoming all the rage nowadays, developers are busy devising apps and widgets to make operating FB a breeze. Cerevo KK, a networked CE devices startup company based in Akihabara Tokyo, Japan, have kickstarted their campaign to attract backers for supporting their NOTICE: Physical Facebook Notifier project. The NOTICE device utilizes LEDs to display FB updates, including friend requests and messages as well.
The device can be connected to a Mac or PC using a USC cable. Now what a user needs to do is install the app. Since FB users usually prefer checking their updates in bulk rather than clicking on each pop-up, they can set NOTICE to Do “Not Disturb” mode to ensure that they check their updates only when the number of notifications have reached a preset number. Just to avoid obstructions at work, users may turn off the sound as well.
The NOTICE device is in its prototype stage. Now, for manufacturing and delivering it to customers, Cerevo has to bear large initial costs. However, with $20,000 raised at Kickstarter (if it does so), the manufacturer plans to start producing the product by the Q4, 2012. With 44 days to go, Cerevo has already raised $711 from its 16 backers.
