World’s first Twitter-activated tea vending machine is here!

Call it the consequence of our laziness or an outcome of speedy incursion of media into our lives; we want everything at our disposal without having to make the least effort to grab that. Take this for example. Next time, when you feel like having a cup of tea, all you need to fetch one is send a tweet. However, you need to be a resident of Cape Town, South Africa, to avail this facility.

Dubbed as BEV, the world’s first Twitter-activated vending machine started responding to users’ tweets and vending free tea. It first made its debut at the Design Indaba Expo in Cape Town earlier this year.

During its promo campaign, it will disburse free tea to users through the weekend. The dispenser not only responds to your hash tag commands, but also instructs you about the right hash tag. The BEV tracks your physical location and serves you only if you happen to be in the service zone. It means that you Twitter app should be able to track your location as well.

The tea vending machine comes equipped with sound activated LEDs, trigger switches, cameras and microphone.
