Most violent video games your kids must not play

Gone are the days when kids used to play video games that depicted cartoon characters and other friendly protagonists. The kids of today get swept into the world of violent warfare video games at a very young age itself, and prefer these to the otherwise subtle games that require them to build houses, raise pets, cook dishes, collect eggs or shoot tiny aliens etc. And while some say these games are the perfect mediums to vent out their anger and frustrations, others believe that they may be too violent for kids who may start emulating them in real life. And we can’t agree with them more!

Given below are 5 video games we feel would be too violent and brutal for your kids to play.

Saints Row: The Third

Of course there is nothing wrong in forming gangs and thrashing rival gang members. But this particular game gives the word ‘thrashing’ a whole new meaning. Gamers are actually encouraged to take whatever weapon comes in their hands (including shotguns, pistols, rockets, swords, grenades and even vehicles) to kill their enemies. Worse, the gamers can get away with killing innocent civilians and police officers. The game also contains content related to sex, profanity and drugs.

Darkness II

This is another game that takes violence and gore to new levels. You will reprise the role of a ruthless Mafia boss with the strength to kill thousands of humans, and the supernatural capability to control and kill inhumane beasts as well. You get to choose between traditional weapons like swords, rifles and pistols etc. and supernatural ones like ‘Demon Arms’ which gives you the ability to literally tear your enemies apart. Expect to see plenty of gory finishing moves featuring scenes like hearts being ripped out, inappropriate sexual acts, enemies screaming out in pain, and the decapitation of humans and creatures. And the profanity and drug references you get to hear during the game are countless.

Dead Space 3

Of course everyone loves to shoot an alien now and then. But this one literally hits the roof in terms of scares, blood, gore and violence. In addition to decapitating, dismembering, ripping, exploding and torching aliens with an assortment of violent weapons, you get to see your own team members die painfully slow and gory deaths in the same way you kill the aliens. And that’s excluding the countless numbers of suicides and executions you get to see throughout the game. Plenty of blood and gore here people! Definitely not for the faint hearted or the weak stomached!

Dead Island Riptide

What’s a scary, bloody video game without at least a couple of zombies trying to attack you? Well,  you don’t get just a couple, but at least a few truckloads of zombies that would do anything to rip you apart piece by piece in this game.

The Dead Island Riptide offers its players several weapons to choose from to behead, dismember and destroy zombie troops that descend on them in all their gory finery. Players can also stomp around on top of zombie heads and get to hear the splash sound that comes with crushing the blood vessels in a zombie’s face (ugh!).

The backgrounds are mostly filled with hanging bodies and dismembered body parts. And don’t be surprised if you get to hear a good amount of sexual references and profanity while playing.

NeverDead

How do you kill something that well—- never gets killed? Well, that’s the demon hunter for you, a 500 year old protagonist who just doesn’t die! He gets dismembered, decapitated and even ripped to pieces, only to roll back and reattach himself. Players also get the liberty to reattach this body parts at their own free will, with the results being extremely frightening at times.

NeverDead also features several enemies being slashed, impaled and beheaded (mostly in slow motion); complete with a blood curling scream when they die. And in addition to the generous use of red pulp to depict blood and body parts, the game features several close up shots of the body parts of females. Plus, there is some amount of profanity your kids are better off without hearing.
