PowerCutter aims to conserve energy by ending vampire power draw

PowerCutter

People usually disconnect their device from the charger as soon as it is juiced up fully, and let the charger connected to the power source which continues to consume energy until you turn the switch off or remove the charger from the power source. Providing a solution, a bunch of designers, including Soheyl Ghiami, Kourosh Mahdavi, Elmira Cheraghi, Saba Saboursadeghzadeh and Yasna Kalantar, has developed a charger cable called the “PowerCutter” that comes with a built-in switch inside the socket to connect the entrant wires. Once you remove the device from the socket, it turns off to save the power.

No matter, if the adaptor is plugged into the wall outlet or not, the PowerCutter does not draw energy once the main circuit is disconnected. As soon as you plug the device into the socket, the charger cable turns the switch on to draw energy from the power source. The PowerCutter not only saves unused energy but also enhances the durability of the adaptor.
