Skube makes listening to music more physical and social

Developed by the students of the Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design (CIID), the “Skube” is a jukebox that uses Spotify to play music from sideloaded Last.fm playlists to make music more physical and social. The Spotify-powered music box works with users’ playlist in normal mode, while it switches to discover mode automatically and makes use of Last.fm’s API to search comparable music, as soon as you turn it over.

Turn the device on its face to pause the music, while you can skip the current track by tapping it twice, of course, gently. In addition, you can use two or more Skubes together, which you can control with a single box, to sync their output and transform them into a multi device loudspeaker for an enhanced audio experience.
